I was born and raised on a farm in Lexington, NC. My mother, Suzy Sheets, owns Sheets' Dance Academy where I took ballet, tap, jazz, and modern and eventually taught ballet and tap. I attended Governor's School West in Dance the summer before my junior year of high school. It was an unbelievable experience, and I encourage all of my students to attend if they have the opportunity. I graduated from Central Davidson High School where I was a trombonist in the Wind Ensemble. While I enjoyed playing the trombone in middle and high school, the piano is my instrument of choice. After high school I attended Elon University. As a North Carolina Teaching Fellow at Elon, I had the amazing opportunity to study abroad in London, England during the spring semester of my sophomore year. During those three months I attended numerous plays, visited historical sights, spent time in an inner-city London high school, and traveled to Scotland and Ireland. I graduated magna cum laude from Elon with a degree in Mathematics.
